Sample Weekend, and from the time travel, paranormal romance/urban fantasy The Seven Spell Saga, we have a snippet and information

Bartholomew Pike's Spell Book: The Seven Spell Saga book six

Book Six follows on from the author's cut in Book five.
New characters emerge, and a surprise is in store for Chloe McGarry, and her two companions Tristan Dearing, and Oliver Tarrant.

The three friends and lovers find themselves embroiled in yet another adventure, this time indirectly caused by the time travel portal on the Dearing estate.
Tristan and Oliver are both in love with Chloe, and she reciprocates. A young woman seeking out Tristan for help arrives on the Dearing estate; her message is about the young knight Gaston. Gaston is in trouble, held captive, and being tortured.
They must attempt a rescue. What can go wrong?

Magic has always followed Tristan Dearing around, his lover Chloe has caught the habit, and now so has the lovely Oliver Tarrant.

In the attic of Tristan’s reacquired house in the White Witch woods they find a cache of antiques. Where have they come from and why does Oliver feel an affinity with them?

Already the trio has found their special abilities evolving, and now Oliver, with his love for technology suddenly finds himself with as much magic surrounding him as Tristan.

In this enchanting continuation of The Seven Spell Saga the romance between the characters takes new turns.
They find new directions for their lives, which have been so changed over the last three years by their meeting.
They try to settle down to use the special abilities they have received from their blood bond with the enigmatic, immortal knight Tristan Dearing.
Does fate let them?

I walked over. “Let me try Oliver” I said, and he held the handprint out for me.
I put my hand into the shape and felt a vague tingle. The carved hand fit my hand too and I looked up at Oliver who raised his eyebrows.
“Magic”, he said and smiled.
We both smiled but at the same time I felt a little strange, and was happy when Oliver put the thing down and turned to me.
“Chloe come and be cuddled. I love you, did I tell you that yet?” and he kissed me. It was a long time before we stopped kissing each other and I left my head against his chest after to catch my breath and stop feeling as if my legs had melted.
“You don’t need to go anywhere right now do you?” Oliver asked in a whisper and I shook my head. I didn’t want to be anywhere other than pressed against Oliver right then.

This weekend we welcome guest author Regina Puckett

Regina Puckett is a graduate and employee of Middle Tennessee University.  She loves creating love stories for the frictional Warren family.  She is surrounded by people who support her wild schemes and activities.   Her husband and daughters have the pleasure of helping whenever the spell-check is totally confused.

Gregory is a world renown artist, drop-dead gorgeous and sincerely believes a promise should never be broken.    At the age of twelve he promised to wait on four year old Mary Elizabeth to grow up.  Every day of his life since then has revolved around keeping that promise.  Now the time has finally arrived to discover if she still wants to marry him.

While Mary Elizabeth doesn’t believe in fairy tales, she believes in Gregory.  Her parents keep insisting he won’t come for her, but she knows he will.  At four years of age her young heart recognized the person it belonged to. But just when she thought her perfect future was coming true, a spiteful adversary caused her to doubt Gregory’s sincerity.  Now the future doesn’t seem quite so bright or certain.

Gregory and Mary Elizabeth will have to overcome many obstacles in order to stop waiting and to finally begin living and loving.

Gregory pulled a cell phone from a pocket of the jacket she was wearing. He offered her the phone and waited until she finished her call before calling a cab for himself. They stood at the gym entrance for a moment before finally sitting on the top step of the gym landing. They sat on opposite sides of the railing.

After a moment of silence, Gregory grinned through the railing. “Well, here we are. It isn’t exactly how I thought our first meeting would go.”

A fluttering in her chest made it hard to breathe, but she somehow managed to smile in return. “How did you think it would go?”

He leaned backward until both elbows rested on the cold, concrete flooring. “I thought I would ask about your life and then I would tell you about mine.” He shifted his weight. “I wanted to ask about your future plans.” He leaned over slightly and grinned. “What are your plans for after graduation?”

The way he studied her mouth made it difficult to concentrate. “I want to open my own floral shop, but my parents want me go to the university to study business. They think I should understand business first before I rush into ownership of a shop.”

He gave the tips of his shoes some serious consideration before finally nodding. “That sounds like wise advice.”

A comfortable silence surrounded them. Mary Elizabeth leaned on the railing and finally broke the silence. “Why are you really here?”

He sat up, leaned forward, and wrapped both arms around his knees. “I needed to know you still wanted me to wait for you.” He glanced over for a brief moment before looking back down at the steps. “You were very young when you asked.”

She wanted to reach and touch his hair.  Just to see if it was as soft as it looked, but she resisted the urge. “Why have you kept your promise?  Even my parents said you wouldn’t.”

He looked up and locked eyes with her. “But someone did expect me to. You did and I did. Did anyone else matter?”

She did reach over then and touched the sleeve of his shirt. “There’s more. Isn’t there?”

He completely covered her hand with his. “I wanted you to know that I believed you that day. It never mattered to me that no one else did. I did.” He gave a shy grin. “I want you to enjoy this time in high school and at the university. Don’t give up living just because you know where our journey ends.” He increased the pressure on her hand for a moment. “Promise me to do this, okay?”

She nodded.

He released her hand and stood. She stood as well.

“When I return, I don’t want you to have any doubts about if we belong together or not.”

Before any more could be said, the cab arrived behind her father’s car.

Gregory passed Mary Elizabeth at the bottom of the steps. She slipped his jacket off and handed it to him. When he reached over for it, his fingers lingered on the top of her hand in a final caress. The touch was so brief Mary Elizabeth would have thought she had imagined it, but he paused in mid step and smiled before continuing toward the cab.

They both stopped and looked at each other before opening their respective car doors.

I’ll wait for you if you’ll wait for me.

“I made you a promise. It is still just as good today as it was the day it was made. Enjoy your time here at school. Go study your business classes and then open your floral shop. I’ll be back soon.”

There were a million things she wanted to say.

“Is that a promise?”

“Yes, but this time, you have to give me a promise. You have to promise me to live and enjoy this time of your life.”

“How do I do that?”

“You take each day as it comes. You live each day as if it were your last day on earth.”

She could feel her father staring from inside the car, but the only person who mattered at that moment was Gregory. “I’ll try.”

He laughed. “You have to promise.”

His smile made her laugh as well.

“I will. I promise.”

Welcome to guest author Elodie Parkes

Elodie writes contemporary romance and erotic romance.

Elodie Parkes currently lives in Canterbury, United Kingdom, (of Chaucer fame), with her two dogs. Elodie loves to go to the coast whenever she can.
She combines writing with her job in a local antiques shop and says the people she meets there often spark a story idea.
Presently she is working on another erotic, contemporary romance Two of Them, expected release date August 5, 2012

Her new book Millie Re-invented is about a young woman who suddenly realizes that her husband has not really been kissing her for a couple of years. Millie is kissed by a young man who works in the same firm as she does at their Christmas party, and the kiss is so different and enjoyable it jolts her into the realization that she has been kissing her husband but he’s just been taking it. It’s not the only thing he’s been taking.
Millie finds herself assessing her relationship with her husband over the next months as the young man who kissed her at the party starts to pursue her.
The things Millie finds out about her husband astonish her.
She falls into a relationship with the young man August. He is very special and begins to love Millie entirely.
As Millie and August’s relationship deepens the reader will delight in their love scenes.
There are some fun aspects to this erotic romance when Millie meets August’s friendship group from university. The reader will instantly like the group of women in this book and fall in love with August themselves. His journey is told with tenderness by the author.

Millie smiled and looked longingly at his lips. August knew she wanted to kiss him and emotion flooded his eyes. It was amusement, desire, and kindness all at once. Millie hoped he would kiss her and not that she would have to show her need by pulling his head to hers.
August leaned in and brushed his lips against hers. “What are you drinking?” he asked, thinking she had probably had too many drinks and that was why she was so responsive.
When she said, “Orange juice”, he was surprised.
“Is that all, that’s what you’ve been drinking all night?” he questioned softly.
Millie nodded. “Yes. I’m driving home. Why?”
He smiled. “Do you want another orange juice?”
Millie shook her head. She didn’t want more orange juice she wanted more kisses. She sighed not knowing what to do next.
August did. He took her hand and led her to the corridor. It had other offices leading off it and he opened the door to one of them.
He looked inside and satisfied there was no one in there he pulled Millie gently into the room and closed the door.
Millie waited. August stood very close to her and put his hands on either side of her rib cage, holding her like that he bent his head to hers and began to kiss her. Millie felt his lips against hers in his slow sexy kiss and kissed him back with all the need she felt. August moved his hands a little and his thumbs found her nipples hard and pressing out to him through her silk shirt. He stroked them gently and kissed her, his tongue finding hers, and then receding to kiss her again, his lips closed and loving on hers. He whispered to her. “You are lovely”.
Millie was clinging to him and he began to unbutton her shirt. He kissed down her neck and then along her shoulder. He put his hands inside her shirt and unfastened her bra. Millie gasped with pleasure as he cupped both her breasts in his cool hands and kissed down the swell of them to suck first one nipple, and then the other, until Millie thought she couldn’t stand up.
August kissed up her throat to her lips as Millie unbuttoned his shirt and moved her hands over his chest. His skin was smooth and his muscles hard. Millie moved her lips over his, a soft touch, a gentle brush, and then a deep breathtaking kiss. She trailed the tips of her fingernails gently over the skin of his back and he took a deep breath.
“I’d like to make love to you, I would, but not here, not in the office. You deserve better”, he told her, and yet he moved his hands to her hips, and crushed her to him so that she could feel him hard against her.
Millie kissed the side of his mouth and then his jaw. She kissed him down his throat to his chest and swirled her tongue around his nipples. August had his hands on her bottom, he was kneading her low down, and it felt to Millie that if he kept going she would come. He kissed her and pressed her to him. Millie was desperate and she murmured against his lips with little sounds of need. August felt it himself but he couldn’t pull her down to the floor, nor lift her already short pencil skirt, and push his fingers into her. He knew if anyone walked in it would be a disaster and he began to button her shirt.
When Millie felt this she did the same and buttoned his shirt.
They smiled at each other in the dim light spilling in from the other offices close by. Millie sighed. “Thank you for kissing me August. It was delicious”.
August took her left hand in his and looked at the wedding ring on her finger. “You’re married Millie. Doesn’t your husband kiss you?”
Millie sighed again. “Not like that. Not like he means it. Not as if he likes it”.
August frowned. “That’s bad”, he told her, and he kissed the palm of her hand, and then found her lips with his again.
When he had kissed her until they were both breathless he moved back from her.
“He must be a fool” he said, and then he straightened his clothes, and hers.
“We should get back to the party. We can’t be in here when it ends and it’s after ten. I was under the impression it wound up at ten-thirty”.
Millie wondered what she must look like and outside in the corridor she detoured into the staff restrooms and looked at herself in the mirror.
She looked misty, wistful, in need.

The Kolian Chronicles #1 - Space Turbulence

Meet Hammer Mehran, space captain, smuggler, serial womanizer and all round bad boy. Not the ideal person to turn to if you're trying to hold onto your virtue and reputation.

But if your life's in danger he's got your back. And if you're a pretty young woman your front, your legs and all the other interesting bits in between.

Then Mysior stumbles into his life - beautiful, vulnerable and with an air of mystery he can't quite put his finger on, and he finds his allergy to commitment waning.

But the blossoming romance is cut short by a brutal murder. Neither of them know the first thing about murder investigation. The only thing they do know is they were together when it happened and they didn't do it.

If they don't solve the murder before they hit port, the authorities will be swarming all over the ship. With a hold stuffed with illegal goods, Hammer isn't keen on that idea. But he wants revenge and he wants Mysior to help him.

They have five days. They have twelve suspects. All they have to do is stay alive, eliminate suspects and try not to let their romance distract them. And resolve the strange case of suspected gravy molestation along the way.

If you like your heroes with a wicked side, your plots with a twist and safe story lines jettisoned out the waste chute somewhere around the Orion Nebula, then check out the 12,000 word free sample.

The novel is a self-contained murder mystery which can be read as the introduction to the Kolian Chronicles or a stand-alone story. Contains strong language and adult content.

Hammer woke before the alarm. He leant on his elbow and gazed down at her. She looked so young and innocent in her sleep, her hair spread out across his pillow like a dark halo around her beautiful face. She was an angel. An angel with a wicked streak, he amended his assessment, recalling their hours of pleasuring each other last night. He bent over and kissed her damaged cheek, determined that if he did nothing else for her he’d find her miserable excuse of a husband and make him pay for the suffering he’d caused her. She stirred and opened her eyes, smiling lovingly at him.
‘Is it morning?’ she asked sleepily.

‘Technically it’s lunchtime. There’s a five hour time shift between The Dump and Koliar. And I have to go back to work.’

She reached out and pulled him towards her. He kissed her tenderly and then shook his head apologetically. ‘I can’t, darling. I have to do the final approach. I’m our only pilot.’

She lowered her eyes, screwing up her feelings into a tiny ball and tucking them away into the deepest corner of her heart. She would always love him, but she could live without him, she told herself firmly. It was enough that she had her memory of last night and she could replay it in her imagination a thousand times, knowing it had truly happened.

‘Go on then, you disreputable pirate. You’ve had your wicked way enough times to pay the late booking fee several times over, so I don’t know why you’re still hanging around here waiting for more.’

‘Thank you.’ He brushed her hair out of her eyes, as unsure as she was exactly what he meant by that.

He disappeared into the washroom, grabbing a clean flightsuit on the way, and returned some minutes later fully dressed. She was sitting by the window, staring into space. He walked over and placed an arm around her bare shoulders, stroking her soft skin, desperately not wanting to leave her, but knowing he had to.

‘That’s the Kolian sun,’ he told her, pointing to a bright star in the centre of her view. ‘If you keep looking for about another half hour you’ll see a bluish object. That’s Scallous, the outermost planet of the Kolian system, an ice giant. I’ll take us in close to its orbit so you get a good view, if you like?’

She nodded silently, feeling a heady mixture of emotions as she realised that every moment took them closer to the home-world and closer to saying their final goodbyes.

My Blood Runs Blue:
Chapter 6 - Julian
As we started the ride back to the house, she put her left hand gently on my thigh.  I felt the muscles bunch under the slight pressure, but slowly relaxed. For the entire ride she grinned and sang to the music on the radio, while hanging her right arm out the window in the breeze and keeping her left hand gently on my thigh.  I kept quiet and just tried to memorize every moment of this time together.
Once we pulled up to the house, she climbed right out and stood looking up at the sky.  “The sky right now is like your eyes.  The deep dark sapphire of night glistening with stars.”
I had walked around the back of the car to stand behind her.  “No one has ever put it that way,” I said softly.
“That’s what I thought when I saw them last night.  Now that I’ve seen the sky here, I know that it’s even more true.  The depths of your eyes are like looking into the galaxy.” She was still looking up to the sky with her back to me.
I couldn’t resist any longer I reached up to touch her, just as she turned to look at me.  Eye to eye we were, neither of us breathing.  I took my hand and put it along the side of her face, under her ear with my thumb sliding over her open lips.  I pulled her to me slowly.
When our lips met, it was like the galaxy above swallowed us in an explosion of the sun. The moment our lips met, I no longer knew where I stopped and she began.  We seemed to have melted together.  To have become one in that first kiss.
Her hands came up to my chest and pressed against me, gripping my shirt.  As my other arm came around her body, her hands slid over my chest to my back and we pulled each other close.  We pulled each other closer then I could have ever thought possible.  Our kiss was so deep it was like we could have existed with one heart beating.
I felt her straining hard against me.  She could feel my hardness pushing against her lower stomach and she slowly started to move gently against it.  I moaned deep in my throat and clung to her harder, pushing myself as hard as I could against her while standing up.
Oh God, I was gonna explode right here in the driveway, right here under the stars.  I wanted her – right that moment I needed her more than I needed air, blood, a heartbeat.  I needed her and I needed to be inside her to feel her warmth, to explode within her.
I pushed her up against the side of the Mustang roughly.
