A big welcome to Deborah Palumbo my guest author today

Hi Deborah welcome to the blog today

Hello everyone, it is very nice to meet you all.
I'm Deborah Palumbo author of the paranormal mystery/romance series, The Undeparted. There are currently 3 books in the series, but I am the author of 9 books in total. I'm self pubbed exclusively on Amazon. Why exclusively Amazon? Well, that means that my ebooks are absolutely FREE to Amazon prime members 365 days a year, morning, noon and night, seven days a week, and only $2.99 for everyone else; paperback is available for $7.95.
In addition to writing paranormal novels, I also write historical romance (sweet and spicy), and mystery/crime, you know who dunnit with frustrated detectives hot on the trail of some wretched killer.
I also wrote a screenplay with actor/writer Jordan Rhodes. I had a blast with Jordan, enjoyed the screenwriting experience immensely, but my first love is writing novels; In fact, I wanted to write novels since I was a little girl. I actually started out at age 7 through 18 writing poetry for God!  It wasn't until a debilitating illness and long period of confinement until my dream of novel writing came to be.
Talk about fate!
For now I'd like to introduce you to book 3 in my vampire mystery/romance series, entitled The Banished One. The series is called The Undeparted. I really hope you'll check out the series, get caught up on it and love it!

The Banished one is a continuation from the previous 2 books. There's an evil, lustful killer vampire on the loose in a small town and Lieutenant Welby who is a staunch disbeliever in vampires is finally convinced that he's got a serial killer vampire on the loose. He follows old town rumors right to the handsome and sexy Quentin, the father of all vampires, and his gothic castle to enlist Quentin's aid. Welby knows he needs an immortal to defeat an immortal.
You think Quentin will help??

Here's a brief excerpt from the novel:
Suddenly a chemical shot through Lucius while he was watching that sexy female, similar to a feeling when he was mortal and checking out a hot babe. But this desire in his vampire state was more intense, almost electrified and mingled with this lustful craving for blood. He had to drink from her neck; taste her life's essence, and he had to get laid. There was no fighting it, no self-control. He was accustomed to indulging every desire, no matter if they were spontaneous eruptions from some surging chemical, or a well-planned rendezvous.

Hi Liz,
Welcome to the blog, it's great to see you.

Firstly, thank you, Tessa, for giving me the chance to introduce enterprising Evie Shaw, the star of Evie Undercover, to your readers. And to introduce them, too, to drop-dead gorgeous Tom Hadleigh, a lawyer with a sense of humour as attractive as his looks.
Tom’s in a desperate plight: he must urgently visit the 14th century house he recently brought in Umbria, Italy, but he can’t speak a word of Italian; his Italian surveyor can’t speak a word of English, and his regular interpreter isn’t available to accompany him.
Enter auburn-haired Evie Shaw, ostensibly an agency temp, in reality the newest reporter on the gossip magazine Pure Dirt. Through the manipulation of her devious editor, Evie, fluent in Italian, is sent to work for Tom as an interpreter.
For Tom, his house will be his sole focus for their week together in Italy. Unfortunately for Tom, Evie has a different focus Рnamely, the expos̩ she must write about Tom or lose her only offer of a magazine job after months of searching.
But the path for the investigative journalist is seldom smooth, and it certainly never is when the subject in hand is as luscious as Tom.

This isn’t the first novel I’ve set in Umbria, and I’m sure it won’t be the last. I love the area.  Popular though beautiful Italy is, not many people in Umbria speak English, and anyone buying a house there would have to have help with the language if they didn’t speak it.  And that’s where Evie comes in.
But Tom needing Evie is only the start of the story …

A hotel bedroom in Umbria, Italy

‘Will you sleep with me?’ Evie Shaw stood on her dishevelled bed, spotlit by a sliver of moonlight that fell from the unshuttered window above her. The man who’d just started to walk out of her bedroom stopped sharply. He turned to face her. ‘Please sleep with me,’ she repeated, wriggling toes that were tipped with scarlet and holding clenched fists in front of her mouth.
She lowered her head to let her long auburn hair fall across her face. Strands of hair drifted across eyelashes caked with thick black mascara, and stuck there. Damn! That wasn’t meant to happen. She raised a hand and tugged lightly on the wayward strands. A second, more forceful, tug freed the hair. The sharp pain made it easy to work a tremor into her lower lip.
Leaving the bedroom door wide open, Tom Hadleigh took two or three steps back into the dimly lit room. He pulled the belt of his white towelling robe more tightly around him and cleared his throat.
‘I’m sorry, Evie,’ he began, his voice firm, but edged with embarrassment. ‘Attractive though you are, I don’t sleep with the people who work for me. It’s just not a
good idea - in fact it’s a bloody awful idea and I’m sure you can appreciate that. Though of course I’m flattered you asked me,’ he added quickly.
She opened her eyes wide, her face a picture of astonishment. She wrinkled her nose questioningly at him, then startled surprise give way to dimpled amusement. Cute, dimpled amusement, she hoped.
‘Oh, I don’t mean sleep with me, as in sleep with me. I certainly don’t want to sleep with you like that. God forbid!’ She threw back her head and laughed.

Evie Undercover is a rom com published by Choc Lit. It’s now available on kindle.
