Countermeasure Series from Chris Almeida and Cecilia Aubrey

In the first novel of the COUNTERMEASURE SERIES, tenacious ex-CIA agent Cassandra James is in hot water. A cyber thief stole sensitive information from her father's top client - information she was supposed to keep secure - and now she could lose her job, even if she is the boss' daughter. The only person who can help her recover the stolen data is sexy NSA analyst Trevor Bauer - a computer mastermind who's broken through her personal security and might break her heart as well.

Trevor is on the hunt for answers to the mystery surrounding his parents' disappearance. Following a promising lead into the missing Bristol files, he accidentally gets on the radar of a woman too hot to handle...and a mercenary willing to do anything to keep both of them from recovering those files.

To track down the thief, Trevor and Cassandra must embark on a harrowing adventure that leads them across the ocean and into a world of intrigue, danger, and passion. But as they close in on their target, their relationship begins to boil, jeopardizing their mission as well as their very lives. Will they learn to trust their instincts - and each other - in order to survive?

The suspense driven COUNTERMEASURE SERIES combines full-length novels and Bytes of Life short stories about sexy, technologically inclined men and women. The series is filled with heart-stopping danger and enough twists and turns to make a hair-raising rollercoaster seem tame. In the series, Trevor Bauer, a tough as nails NSA geek, and his even more tenacious love interest, Cassandra James, are on a quest for clues in the mysterious disappearance of Trevor's parents. Joined by fate, their search drops them into the mysterious and violent world of data espionage, one that tests their love as they sweep the world with romance, sex, and ingenuity to find answers that will have the power to change their lives forever.

Some facts about our background, how we met, began writing together, etc.

1.             We have been writing together for almost three and half years.
2.             We met while writing for a role-playing group base on a paranormal novel back in September of 2010.
3.             We view role-play as a creative outlet and breathes life into our own writing. Basically each character has about 5 minutes to come up with a full paragraph that tied to the paragraph posted by the character before which moves the story forward. It's a great exercise.
4.             The Countermeasure Series is the result of a vivid dream that Chris had when we were still role playing our old characters.
5.             To Russia with Love (Book 2) was the first story we developed with the two (minus Stephan's story). We created the characters and played out the story in a role-play environment. It was the bones/foundation for the final novel version of the novel.
6.             Countermeasure (Book 1) came about when we finished the role-play story line for To Russia with Love and realized that it was not the beginning of Trevor and Cassandra’s adventure together. We went back in time and wrote their meeting and HEA incorporating Chris’s dream into the prologue.
7.             We share a brain. We don't have a LOT of differences when it comes to the stories. We develop the scenes as we go and we talk them out until we have something that makes good sense and that works for both of us. When we reach a disagreement point, we argue our points and find something that works for both.
8.             Writing love scene comes easier to us than fight scenes. Those are our kryptonite because we want them to be flawless. Flow, and leave your heart pounding
9.             We use images of the characters help us in writing. So we like to find matches to our character sheets.
10.          We share similar characteristics to the main characters. I am a spreadsheet fiend. Chris is a total geek and proud of it. I like itineraries, Chris loves hitchhiking.
11.          Ireland is the base for our series because of our ties to the isle. I fell in love at first site with the country at the age of 12 while reading about it in an English version full Encyclopedia Britannica. Later in life, I finally visited Ireland. It was like going home. I spent 5 months there. Ireland follows me around and usually, the link to Ireland brings really good things to my life. The fact that Cecilia's father was half-Irish and that she has ties to County Cork was a clue. It was only natural that Trevor came from Ireland. I wouldn't see him from anywhere else.
12.          Music fuels our writing.
13.          We are both a splice of yin and yang. We are both good and totally evil.
14.          We, like most writers, we meld our personal experiences into what we write. We use the emotional feedback from our personal experiences in the stories. They add color to scenes. It's much easier to write a scene (be it a love scene or a sad scene) when we understand and have experienced the pain or pleasure the characters are living. The story lines are feasible, could happen.
15.          It seems that life imitate our stories. For example the Russian piece of TRWL. Something quite similar to the raid on the mansion happened in St. Petersburg about 18 months after we had written TRWL.
16.          We write using pen names. Both Ceci and I use our middle names. Being Brazilian, I was gifted with a VERY FREAKING LONG name.
17.          The genre and characters we write are usually born from an idea. And they grow as we develop the idea. For the our new upcoming series the A.W.E. Crew, we had the plot that involved Special Forces guys but we had none of them drawn in our heads until we began to work on Alternate Connection (Book 3 in the Countermeasure Series).

Welcome to guest author Ella Jade who brings her paranormal new release, Find Me

Thanks so much for hosting me today. I’m please to announce the release of my very first paranormal romance. This idea has been in my head for several years so to finally see it on the pages is a dream come true for me. I hope you enjoy what I’ve come up with.

A love that transcends time…
As her 25th birthday approaches, Riley Sparrow begins to dream of a handsome, intriguing stranger. Each night the dreams get more intense and the stranger starts leaving her clues to his whereabouts. The dreams always end in a whisper…
Find Me.
Riley has denied her birthright her entire life. She descends from a strong line of witches and warlocks, but she's refused her powers up until now. With the help of her estranged grandfather she learns that her mystery man is from the past and his life is in danger. Will her grandfather help her travel back to 1963 to save the man she believes she's meant to be with? A man she knows nothing about but feels a strong connection to.
If she finds him, can she save him from the evil that haunts them both? By securing his past, she knows there can never be a future for them in her time.
Content Warning: contains sensual sex scenes

Riley closed her eyes and let the heat of the water engulf her tired muscles. Resting her head against the bath pillow, she cleared her mind. The steam seeped out from the bubbles and swirled around the room. Soon the mirror and windows were fogged and a scented mist surrounded the bathroom, creating a relaxing atmosphere. A week’s worth of sleepless nights had taken their toll and Riley drifted off.

The squeak of the faucet and the silence that followed distracted her tranquil thoughts. She opened her eyes to find him sitting on the edge of the tub looking at her. For a moment, she felt self-conscious. She glanced down and discovered her body covered in thick, white bubbles. He couldn’t see anything but the tops of her shoulders, neck, and face.
“Sorry,” he said. “I was afraid the water would overflow.”
“Am I awake?”
He shook his head. She noted his green eyes sparkled even in the dim lighting of the bathroom.
“Well, then how—”
“It’s complicated.” His thin, pink lips formed a small smile. “I can’t explain now.”
“Why not?”
“There isn’t enough time to make you understand while you’re in your current state. We need much more time. You can get that for us.”
“Are you real or am I crazy?”
“I’m very real, just stuck between realms. I’ve been waiting for you for a long time.” He slid off the side of the tub and knelt down on the floor. “I’m afraid I can’t stay very long. I keep trying to figure out how to increase the length of my visits but nothing seems to work.”
“I don’t know you.”
“You will.” He reached for the clip in her hair. “May I?”
She nodded.
Once he’d freed her hair from its confines, he smoothed the damp locks out with his hand. “I like when you wear it down. It’s so pretty.” He continued to stroke her hair. “You’re just as beautiful as I remember.”
“How do you know me?” She shifted her position to face him. She breathed in his crisp scent. He smelled of spice, maybe a hint of cinnamon.
“I…” He trailed off when his gaze caught her exposed breasts. He looked lost in a distant memory.
When she’d turned to face him she’d upset the bubbles shielding her. Her nipples hardened as she watched him take in her flesh. She no longer felt embarrassed.
“I have to go.”
“You keep leaving me. I don’t like it.” Each time he left, he took a small piece of her with him.
“That’s why you need to find me.” He leaned forward. “I know you can. You’re very powerful.” He brushed his lips against her mouth. A rush of warmth coursed through her and settled between her legs. “Find me, Riley.” He kissed the corner of her mouth, lingering a second longer than usual. She took the opportunity to run her tongue along his soft lips. “Find me now.”
“How?” She wanted more than anything to find this man. “What do I need to do?”
“Tucker…” he whispered.

Riley slipped off the bath pillow and under the cold water. She quickly sat up and looked around. The bubbles had evaporated into the freezing water.
Did she turn the faucet off? Or did…
I must be crazy.
She thought for a moment. Her mystery man had left her a big clue tonight. Now she needed to figure out what Tucker Sparrow had to do with any of this. It looked as if she would be paying a visit to a man she hadn’t seen in a decade.
